Story

Young Africans SC, commonly known as Yanga, is the biggest club in East Africa. Professional and ambitious, this wonderful football club is destined for greatness!

Yanga was founded in 1935 as New Young. The club's first years were turbulent, and the club quickly split into 2 separate clubs: Young Africans SC and Eagles (who later evolved into the other Tanzanian giant, Simba SC). Since then, the rivalry has been intense!

Both clubs complete for the title every season and dominate the local scene. The push to get better helped them grow into continental forces.

Yanga has seen much success in recent years. They won the Tanzanian Premier League in the last 3 seasons, ending Simba's 4 year championship streak. Continentally, Yanga reached the finals of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup only to lose to USM Alger due to away goals. In 2023/24, Yanga reached the quarter finals of the CAF Champions League!

We have no doubt they will win continental silverware in no time. In the meantime, the rivalry with Simba sure keeps things interesting in Tanzanian football!
