Get to Know - Ho Chi Minh City FC

Story

Previously we introduced Hanoi FC, now it's time to introduce the powerhouse from the south, Ho Chi Minh City FC, or per their nickname, The Red Battleship.

Established in 1975 as Cảng Sài Gòn, the Saigon Port Football Club, the club were quick to win the local championships. Since the establishment of V.League 1, HCMC FC have had their ups and downs, but the highs were very high with 4 league titles!

This club was recently home to a player very familiar to US fans, Lee Nguyen. We watched him playing incredible football in our legend's retirement game, Thierry Henry, 10 years ago! So this team has an extra warm place in our hearts.

We wish them all the best. Hopefully HCFC FC and Hanoi FC will return to their giants status and elevate local football to new levels!
