A Taste of Highlanders FC
Story
Highlanders Football Club always had a touch with fame. Oldest club in the country, Highlanders FC was founded in 1926 by Prince Rhodes and Prince Albert Khumalo, the grandsons of King Lobengula and was originally called Lions Football Club. Home to Zimbabwean legends Peter Ndlovu, Bruce Grobbelaar, Marvelous Nakamba and surprising Hollywood duo Ethan Zohn and Andrew Shue, Highlanders FC kept up with its celebrity players through the years.
Highlanders FC is known by many nicknames, most popular of them being Bosso meaning "The Boss" in Setswana slang. This great club is famous for its passionate and loyal fanbase, creating an electric atmosphere in their games.
This buzzing atmosphere is definitely helping them have the strongest defense in the league this season. Their defensive prowess is so ingrained in the club culture that their motto is "Siyinqaba" meaning - "We are a Fortress".
Among their many accomplishments, Bosso won the league for four years in a row between the years 1999 and 2002. We hope this great club will continue with its tradition of producing legendary players and much success!
